The Granting of the Fukuoka Prefecture Business Location Promotion Subsidy
Fukuoka Prefecture provides a partial subsidy to cover a portion of the expenses incurred by foreign and foreign-affiliated financial institutions and FinTech companies that establish a new base of operations within the prefecture.

Fukuoka Prefecture Business Location Promotion Subsidy: Financial Sector Overview
・Eligible Financial Companies
Foreign/Foreign-Affiliated Financial Institutions: Banks, securities companies, or insurance companies established under foreign law, or with at least one-third foreign capital contribution.
Asset Management Companies: Companies engaged in investment management business or investment advisory and agency business related to financial instruments as stipulated by the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
FinTech Companies: Companies that generate revenue by providing financial products and services utilizing their own in-house developed IT technology to other companies and consumers.
・Eligible Costs and Subsidy Calculation Basis
The subsidy is calculated based on a portion of the following costs:
Acquisition of Business Facilities: 1/2 of the Capital Investment Amount.
Leasing of Business Facilities: 1/2 of the annual rent for assets qualifying as Capital Investment Amount.
Initial Costs for Leasing: 1/2 of the initial costs associated with leasing the facilities (e.g., key money, membership fees, security card fees, restoration fees).
Consultation Fees for Experts: 1/2 of the fees paid to lawyers, tax accountants, etc., for services related to licenses and legal/tax affairs.
Recruitment Expenses: 1/2 of the expenses paid to domestic and overseas paid employment placement services for hiring new permanent employees who are prefectural residents within one year of operation start.
Note: Fractions less than 1,000 yen will be rounded down.
・Maximum Subsidy Amount
The maximum amount a Grant Recipient can receive for Financial Companies is 8 million yen for the total amount calculated from items 1 to 5 above.
・Eligibility Requirements
Employment: You must hire at least one new permanent employee who is a resident of Fukuoka Prefecture.
Business Approval before Lease Agreement: It is mandatory to obtain business approval before concluding a lease agreement.
To do so, you will need to submit a “Business Approval Application Form” (Form No. 1), ideally at least one month prior to the intended lease agreement.
