Kyushu and Okinawa Businesses Anticipate Economic Recovery in 2024

According to a survey by Teikoku Databank's Fukuoka branch on the 2024 economic outlook for businesses in Kyushu and Okinawa, 13.5% of companies expect an economic recovery, representing a 1.3 percentage point increase from the previous year. The sectors most optimistic about recovery are transportation and warehousing at 27.3%, followed by real estate at 25%, and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries at 20%. Despite concerns over labor shortages and high raw material costs, many companies are hopeful due to the expected increase in foreign visitors to Japan and the easing of semiconductor shortages.
