American Firm 'Asia Pacific Land (APL)' to Establish a Large-Scale Data Center in Kitakyushu City

The 'Asia Pacific Land (APL)' group, a US-based real estate investment and development firm, is planning to construct a large-scale data center in Kitakyushu Academic Research City. This initiative represents APL's inaugural venture into the data center industry. The company has secured approximately 6.2 hectares of municipal land for the project, which will boast a maximum electrical capacity of 120 megawatts, ranking it among the largest in Kyushu. With an investment of 125 billion yen, the development is expected to generate 50 new jobs. The data center is designed to fulfill the data storage requirements of businesses in Japan and East Asia, with construction commencement slated within the next four years.
