Fukuoka Prefecture Hosts Kyushu Digital Finance Seminar

Fukuoka Prefecture recently organized the "Kyushu Digital Finance Seminar," where participants delivered presentations and engaged in discussions on three central themes, including "open banking." This system enables financial institutions to collaborate with external partners by sharing data and functionalities. Among the participants was M-DAQ, a fintech firm from Singapore, which was invited by the industry-academia-government alliance "TEAM FUKUOKA" in 2022.

In attendance were more than 200 representatives from various Kyushu prefectures, including stakeholders from fintech companies, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies. The seminar was intended to enhance the understanding of fintech within local financial institutions. This aligns with the ambitions of "TEAM FUKUOKA" (which includes the prefecture) to transform the region into an international financial hub and attract more businesses.
