Fukuoka Prefecture Launches 'Fukuoka Prefecture Hydrogen Base Promotion Council

Governor Hattori has launched the 'Fukuoka Prefecture Hydrogen Base Promotion Council', which comprises approximately 30 hydrogen-related companies and organizations. Governor Hattori is the chairman, and the deputy chairman positions are occupied by executives from Kitakyushu City, Kyushu Electric Power, Nishi-Nippon Gas, and Nippon Steel. The prefecture aims to construct a large-scale base for the production of 'green hydrogen', manufactured without CO2 emissions using renewable energy, in the Hibikinada coastal area of Kitakyushu City. The prefecture is also supporting demonstration experiments by companies engaging in the hydrogen business in areas like the 'Kitakyushu Hydrogen Town' in Yahatahigashi Ward, Kitakyushu City, aiming for the realization of a hydrogen society.
