Fukuoka Prefecture has named Rohm Apollo Co., Ltd. as a designated corporation of the Green Asia International Strategic Comprehensive Special Zone, an initiative that aims to build an industrial hub centered on environmental business by making use of the government's comprehensive special zone system. The company is a subsidiary of Kyoto-based Rohm Corporation, a major semiconductor and electronic component manufacturer, and it is the third company to receive this designation. The company was designated to establish a production system for power semiconductors (MOSFETs) for electric vehicles at its parent company plant.
