CMSC Establishes Semiconductor Design Subsidiary in FukuokaNew

Taiwan-based semiconductor design company CMSC has established a new subsidiary, CMSC SSB, in Fukuoka City. The parent company designs semiconductors used in a broad range of sectors including automotive, industrial, medical, and telecommunications. The new entity plans to hire 5 to 10 new graduates and mid-career professionals annually—primarily from Kyushu-area universities—and will engage in semiconductor design work aligned with the parent company’s focus. CMSC aims to scale the local operation to a 30-person team within three years.

Logistics real estate leader Japan GLP has announced plans to build a large-scale logistics complex in Kasuya Town, adjacent to Fukuoka City. The facility will comprise multiple warehouse buildings with a total floor area exceeding 150,000 square meters, making it one of the largest in Kyushu. Located about 800 meters from the Fukuoka Interchange—where the Fukuoka Urban Expressway meets the Kyushu Expressway—the site offers quick access to central Fukuoka and is positioned to serve as a major distribution hub for the entire region. Construction is scheduled to begin in November 2025, with full completion expected in 2028.
