Fukuoka Prefecture is actively working on “attracting and developing financial talent” as part of our goal to become an international financial hub. As part of this initiative, on Thursday, July 2, 2026, we hosted a seminar at Kyushu University featuring speakers from two major firms in the asset management industry: Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Asset Management and The Master Trust Bank of Japan (which established a base in Fukuoka this year).<\/p>\n

The event was a great success, with over 110 students in attendance and more than 90 enthusiastic comments received.<\/p>\n

In recent years, as the world of finance\u2014including asset management and NISA\u2014has become more accessible, student interest in the financial industry has been growing. Fukuoka Prefecture will continue to disseminate information regarding the appeal of the financial industry and career development. We remain committed to attracting international financial functions to the region, thereby expanding career opportunities in Fukuoka.<\/p>\n
