VLP Therapeutics Japan, a Tokyo-based venture company involved in clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccines, will establish a vaccine manufacturing hub inside the Kurume Research Park in Kurume City. The company develops vaccines for COVID-19 and malaria as well as cancer treatment vaccines made using its proprietary technology and has been selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for a project to develop biopharmaceutical manufacturing sites to strengthen vaccine production. The establishment of a vaccine manufacturing site for clinical trials in Kurume City is expected to attract more vaccine-related venture companies to the area.
