Cambridge Innovation Center to Open Hub in Fukuoka

Nishi-Nippon Railroad will invite the U.S.-based Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) to open a business start-up support facility inside the tentatively-named Shin-Fukuoka Building, a commercial complex that will open in the spring of 2025. The facility, which will be called the Innovation Campus, aims to support the growth of entrepreneurs and startups. CIC currently runs Innovation Campuses in eight cities in four countries, and once the Fukuoka facility opens, it will be the second in Japan after Tokyo. It is expected to have an area of 3,500m2 and house both private offices and co-working spaces. By placing a CIC facility in a commercial complex, Nishitetsu aims to contribute to regional development as part of the business startup support measures that Fukuoka City has been promoting.
