Institute for Q-shu Pioneers of Space Inc.  (iQPS Inc.), a venture company originating from Kyushu University and a world leader in SAR microsatellite development, recently won the Prime Minister's Prize, the highest award in the Japanese government’s Space Awards, for successfully obtaining a ground resolution of 70 x 70 cm from its QPS Satellite No. 2 (nicknamed Izanami). iQPS aims to launch 36 SAR microsatellites starting in 2025 in order to realize a quasi-real-time data provision service that enables observations of locations almost anywhere in the world at approximately 10-minute intervals.
